Heavy Rain Alert in Andhra Pradesh | IMD Warns Several Districts of Downpour

Описание: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Andhra Pradesh, with heavy rainfall likely in several districts due to an upper-air cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal and a trough extending from Telangana to South Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

According to the weather department, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Eluru, NTR, Krishna, Nandyal, Kadapa, Anantapur, Annamayya, and Tirupati districts may receive heavy rainfall at isolated places. Meanwhile, the AP Disaster Management Authority has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in Polavaram, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore, and parts of Rayalaseema.

Strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are also expected. Authorities have advised people to avoid taking shelter under trees and near electric poles during thunderstorms.
