I have been 4k driving around Portland, Oregon since 2020. I watched it slowly decline til 2022 and slowly recover. But WOW randomly in spring 2026 i noticed a massive jump out of nowhere. Barely any tents, unhinged people, graffiti, etc.
I haven't seen it look this well in a long time. We are still losing a lot of big business but I'm very impressed by the randomly huge improvement.
I start around South Waterfront by Ice building and head to the Cherry Blossums that are barely starting to bloom. Then i head around major areas like Burnside, Pioneer Place, Hawthorne, Belmont, etc.
