The Lie: “I’ll Never Change”
But The Truth: God is still at work in me.

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

This lie does not shout, it whispers:
“I’ve tried before.”
“I always end up here.”
“This is just how I am.”

The enemy uses discouragement to convince us that change is impossible, especially when progress feels slow or invisible. But Scripture reminds us that God is not finished with you. The work of transformation belongs to Him, not to your willpower alone.

Spiritual growth rarely happens overnight. Much of God’s work takes place beneath the surface, quiet, unseen, and gradual much like roots growing deep before a tree ever bears fruit. What feels like stagnation to you may actually be strengthening in God’s hands. Philippians 1:6 anchors our confidence not in ourselves, but in God’s faithfulness.

He does not abandon the work He starts. He is both the Author and the Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Even when you stumble, struggle, or feel unchanged, God remains committed to your transformation. Change is not measured by perfection, but by direction. As you continue walking with Christ, He is reshaping your desires, renewing your mind, and forming His character within you, step by step, season by season:

Rom 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

2Co 3:16-18 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
God is not done with you. He is still working in you.
