If you don't have sufficient work credits to qualify for SSDI, or if you want to increase your SSDI benefits, you can use the work credits of another as allowed by Social Security. You may be able to use the work credits of your spouse, ex-spouse, parent, adoptive parent, grandparent, or stepparent.
