LSL ran the first railtour of the season on the 10th January 2025. Comprised of 87 002, 9 MK3s and their DVT 82139, the special left Euston in the morning for a run along the West Coast Mainline to Edinburgh, and then returned in the evening to London King's Cross via the East Coast Mainline, a journey of around 800 miles. 800 miles in a first class MK3? I couldn't resist travelling on it.
Correction... On leaving Edinburgh, we see Governor's House, not Edinburgh Castle.
