Endah Parade Mall, located in the bustling area of Sri Petaling, Selangor, opened its doors on March 16, 1998. It was designed to be a one-stop shopping destination, featuring a variety of retail shops, food and beverage outlets, fitness centers, entertainment venues, and offices. The mall boasted a gross built-up area of 1.7 million square feet and housed 469 shop lots. Its strategic location made it easily accessible from major highways, including the Maju Express Highway (MEX) and the Puchong–Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS).
In its early years, Endah Parade thrived as a popular shopping and leisure destination. The mall’s anchor tenants, such as Aeon Big and Kuala Lumpur Mega Lanes Bowling Alley, attracted a steady stream of visitors. The presence of a Pioneer Badminton Centre also added to its appeal. However, as time passed, the mall began to face increasing competition from newer and more modern shopping centers in the vicinity.
The decline of Endah Parade can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, the rise of nearby malls such as Sunway Pyramid and the recent Pavilion Bukit Jalil Mall offered shoppers more contemporary and diverse retail experiences. These newer malls featured better facilities, more attractive designs, and a wider range of international brands, drawing customers away from Endah Parade. Additionally, the rapid development of e-commerce provided consumers with the convenience of shopping from home, further reducing foot traffic to traditional malls.
Moreover, Endah Parade struggled to keep up with maintenance and renovations, leading to a dated appearance and a less appealing shopping environment. The lack of significant upgrades and modern amenities made it difficult for the mall to compete with its more polished counterparts. As a result, many tenants began to vacate, leaving behind empty shop lots and contributing to the mall’s overall decline.
Today, Endah Parade stands as a shadow of its former self, with many areas of the mall eerily quiet and vacant. The once vibrant shopping hub has become a symbol of the challenges faced by traditional retail spaces in an evolving market, edging closer to the status of a dead mall
