Hello folks and welcome back to be retro gaming channel Retro Gamer Diaries. Today we are talking about the Liverpool based game developer Denton Designs.
Our story starts on the 9th July 1984 where Imagine Software's bubble burst and the company’s employees became redundant overnight.
However, from the ashes and confusion rose a phoenix, Denton Designs, a programmer’s co-operative set up by Steve Cain, Ian Weatherburn, Ally Noble, John Gibson, Karen Davies and Graham "Kenny" Everett. ’
Amongst these founders were developers who had worked on the unfinished "Mega game" Bandersnatch for Imagine Software.
Denton was initially specialised in developing software for the ZX Spectrum home computer but later moved into the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Amiga CPC, Atari ST, Game Boy and MS-DOS.
The company produced a number of innovative games, including Shadowfire and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and quickly earned a reputation for original, high quality software.
So in this video I cover the main catalogue of games manufactured by Denton. In total I cover 31 Denton titles. I have also included all the differemt versions of these title across all the systems formats. So let's get into and have a look at the games developed by Dento Designs. Yeha!
