Fallout 3 comes with a fun arsenal of weapons to use throughout the Capital Wasteland. Many of these weapons have unique variants that do more damage than their more common versions. These weapons are scattered throughout the wasteland and some are more difficult than others to find. Today we are going to find out if they alone are enough to get us through Fallout 3. Can you beat Fallout 3 with only unique weapons?

The Fallout wiki has a list of all unique weapons in Fallout 3 and I will use this as a reference. Other than using exploits, these weapons occur once in game. The goal is to only use these weapons and get through the main story of Fallout 3. Since we are using some of the best weapons in the game, I am going to be playing on very hard difficulty. I won't collect all the unique weapons but I do want to show off some of them. Also these weapons do not look any different in design but deal more damage. I will not be using any exploits or glitches.

We are born on our birthday, and our mom decides to make it all about her by dying. We fast forward one year with our dad and he leaves us unsupervised. This is our opportunity to choose our starting special. The only outstanding special stat I choose to start with is endurance which goes to 8. I do this because I want more health since I will have to go out and scavenge a unique weapon without weapons to defend myself and I want the extra health to survive.
We are then accelerated to my tenth birthday party where we get various birthday presents. The only one of importance is a sweet roll. I go into my inventory and see I can unequip my vault suit and do it to see if anyone reacts. They do not. Butch, who is my personal bully tells me to give him my birthday sweet roll. I spit on it and give it to him but he doesn't seem to want it.
My dad then tells me there is a surprise in the basement for me. We go down to the basement and talk to my dad's friend Jonas. I decided to put my clothes back on because being a young boy only in my boxers with my dad's friend made me uncomfortable continuing to do it. My dad comes down and tells me my surprise is a BB gun and he set up a range for me to shoot at. After I hit three targets, a radroach appears. At this point in the game, I know that the only two ways to kill this roach is with my bb gun or my fist so I decide to use Vats with my fist. I teleport to the roach and kill it. You could make the argument that the player character's fist in Fallout 3 is a unique weapon but I am not going to make that argument so I will just say I failed this playthrough, but I still want to see if I can do the rest of the game with only Unique weapons. I give dad a good swing, we take a picture together and we accelerate even more in time.
We are now in my dad's office and it's GOAT testing day. After talking with Dad, I grab his medicine bobblehead from his desk. This raises my medicine skill by 10 points
We walk to the classroom and tell the teacher we don't want to take the GOAT. This allows us to skip the test and pick our tag skills. For my tags I go Unarmed, sneak, & lockpick. The reason for this is the first unique weapon I have in mind is an unarmed weapon, I want sneak to sneak by enemies and lockpick to get into locked areas.
We fast forward for the last time and are awoken by Amata. She tells us my dad has left the vault and that we need to follow him because her father, the overseer, has gone mad. She tries to give me a gun, but it isn't unique so I let her keep it. We have an opportunity to grab a BB gun and a baseball bat from the desk. I don't do this but I do grab a vault utility jumpsuit, a baseball cap and the grognak comic from my birthday and head out.
An officer tries to stop us but he is attacked by roaches so we sneak through the bathrooms. Butch spots us and asks us to help his mom who is getting bitten by roaches. From previous playthroughs of Fallout 3, I know that if you have the BB gun, you can convince him to save his mom and will give the BB gun to him. I don't have one on me so I wanted to see what option he has and it basically is telling him to just smash the bugs. We fail the speech check and run forward. We pass officer Gomez who starts to lose to radroaches so I run to the next loading area and hope that he doesn't die. I like Officer Gomez. In the atrium we sneak by while two kids get shot at. We move upstairs and run by the radroaches and come upon Amata being interrogated by her father and a security officer.
