Aggregate stability indicates the resistance of soil structure against mechanical or physico-chemical destructive forces. This device works on the principle that unstable aggregates break down more easily than stable aggregates after immersion in water.
Applications:

• Researchers on salinization problems may use this info to control deterioration of soil structure or to determine possible impacts of improvement practices on aggregate stability.
