Day's work questions are based on a vessel sailing several rhumb line courses for short distances.
This question may be solved using the Traverse tables from the Norie's Tables or using the scientific calculator.
I have used an example to solve this question using the scientific calculator and formulae based on the concept of plane sailing.
Students may use either method and the answers will closely match each other.
