Last Christmas was one of the hardest seasons of my life. I was in my first trimester, constantly nauseous, unable to cook, surrounded by cold weather and missing my family deeply. Christmas came and went quietly, heavy and lonely.
This year is completely different.
This year, I’m a mother.
We’re celebrating our first Christmas as parents, and our home is filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of food cooking all day. I cooked a lot and for the first time in a long time, Christmas felt joyful again. Watching our daughter experience the season, even in her own little way, reminded me how much can change in just one year.
