The Hexi Corridor is a strategic region in Gansu Province, China, stretching around 1,000 kilometers between the Tibetan Plateau and the Gobi Desert. Historically vital to the Silk Road, it connected China with Central Asia, facilitating trade, military movement, and cultural exchange. Key stops along the corridor included Buddhist sites like the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, showcasing art and influences from centuries of cross-cultural interaction.
