Here we can see a comparison of four all-natural, granular oil absorbents: Oil Gator, Clean B, Sphagsorb, and Kengro Biosorb.
Oil Gator and Sphagsorb require up to 4 times as much product, demonstrate leaching, and fail to fully encapsulate the 125 grams of oil in 3 minutes.
Sphagsorb and Kengro Biosorb do an excellent job of absorbing within the three minutes; however, Sphagsorb is highly acidic does not contain natural microbes that continue to break down the oil. Biosorb contains natural microbes and maintains a normal pH level.
In states such as Oklahoma, Sphagsorb must be retrieved, while Kengro Biosorb can be left in place to continue eradicating hydrocarbons before biodegradation.
