Описание: Napanee is a small town located 45 km from Kingston, at the eastern end of the Bay of Quinte and at the mouth of the Napanee River. An Iroquois settlement existed here around 1660. The first Loyalist settlers arrived in 1784. A gristmill and sawmill were built on the site of the falls. By the way, they were built by Robert Clark. Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, practiced law in Napanee. The population is 16,879 (2021). The main streets are Dundas and Centre. The town is very cozy, with many well-preserved beautiful old houses, churches, and museums. Be sure to visit the Alan Macpherson House, now a museum. Also, take a look at the Town Hall (1856) in the town center. Be sure to stroll along the waterfront to the falls; you won't regret it. I recommend trying County Bounty soda, a unique flavor created by local farmer Dodie Ellendogen. There's also a very interesting place called the Old Hay Bay Church, built in 1792, but that will be covered in a separate slideshow.
