Описание: Poros to wyspa leżąca w Zatoce Sarońskiej, której wizytówką jest charakterystyczna wieża zegarowa. Poros to właściwie dwie wyspy połączone niewielkim mostem: mała powulkaniczna Saria z miastem i portem Poros i większa Kalavria z licznymi zatokami, przy których postawiono pensjonaty i hotele.
W sezonie wyspę odwiedza wielu żeglarzy i turystów, ponieważ można tutaj z łatwością dostać się wodnymi taksówkami z miasta Galatas (którego panorama jest widoczna z wieży zegarowej – punktu widokowego wyspy).
Pierwsza osada na wyspie istniała w czasach mykeńskich a z racji bliskiego położenia względem lądu wyspa rozwijała się i miała wówczas duże znaczenie. Rozwój wyspy zachamowany przez wybuch wulkanu, rozpoczął się na nowo dopiero w XV wieku, za czasów panowania Wenecjan. Poros is an island in the Saronic Gulf, with a characteristic clock tower as its showpiece. Poros is actually two islands connected by a small bridge: the small volcanic Saria with the town and port of Poros and the greater Calavria with numerous bays with guesthouses and hotels.
During the high season, the island is visited by many sailors and tourists, as you can easily get here by water taxis from the city of Galatas (whose panorama is visible from the clock tower - the island's viewpoint).
The first settlement on the island existed in the Mycenaean times, and due to its proximity to the mainland, the island developed and was of great importance at that time. The development of the island, restrained by the volcanic eruption, started again only in the 15th century, during the reign of the Venetians. The first houses of the new city were built on the hill of the smaller island of Sari, in the area where the clock tower stands today.
