There are days in Venice that end so gently you can’t help but take out your camera and press record.
This video is exactly that — a quiet moment on a water taxi at sunset, riding across St. Mark’s Basin, passing the soft silhouettes of Santa Maria della Salute, the Doge’s Palace, and the bell tower of St. Mark’s glowing against the sky.
I had just spent the afternoon on San Giorgio Island, my favorite place for surprise proposals, but today I wasn’t working with a couple. I was there to see an art exhibition and to spend a few hours studying in the peaceful library of Fondazione Cini. When I walked out, the sun was already dropping low… and Venice was showing one of those sunsets you don’t forget.
On the way back home, crossing the basin, I filmed this small piece of beauty — the golden light on the Grand Canal, the elegant line of Hotel Danieli, the rhythm of the waves, and that unique calm you only feel here.
Nothing staged. No clients. Just Venice being Venice.
I hope this short ride brings you a bit of the joy I felt in that moment.
