AJP enters the 2026 Finke desert race! PR7, SPR 310R, and SPR 510R pre-run ︱AJP MOTOS Australia

It's widely regarded as the fastest and most dangerous motorbike desert race in Australia, if not the world. It is a two-day "there and back" race covering roughly 460km through harsh desert terrain, with the top riders hitting over 170kmh. Our riders will be on the PR7, the SPR 510R and the SPR 310R. The bikes will be mostly stock apart from steering dampers, Steg Pegz and suspension tuning to suit the terrain. Our riders? Alexandra Long is riding the SPR 310R. Mitchell Thorneycroft is on the SPR 510R. And Warren Strange is riding the PR7 in the seniors class. Our goal? It's simply seeing our riders safely there and back to receive their railway spike! And of course it will be a great showcase for our AJP products and riders. Our team includes assistance from AJP's head office in Portugal, with a visit from engineers Hugo and Martinho for our pre-running. A great help to our race preparations. Our suspension guru is Scott Heyes, from Edge Competition, who is doing an incredible job of getting the suspension sorted for all those sandy whoops. We have just finished two days of pre-running and our team has done a brilliant job of setting up all three bikes in that time. Thanks also to Moto Adelaide, who played a large part in bike preparation, and McArdle Freight for getting our bikes around Australia, safe and sound, as we continue our racing program.
