Описание:
9:30 Fly was a British psychedelic/progressive rock band formed in 1971 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Despite being described by leader Mike Wainwright as "big in Gloucester," the band was a short-lived fixture of the early '70s rock scene, lasting only until 1972.
History and Career
Formation: The band was formed in Cheltenham in 1971.
Recording: They recorded their only, self-titled album (9.30 Fly, Ember NR 5062) in February 1972 at the renowned Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales.
Production & Style: The album was produced by Mike Smith of Amen Corner. Their sound was influenced by bands such as Yes, The Beatles, and Family, incorporating elements of progressive rock with folk and, in some tracks, a Spaghetti Western-style drive.
Signings: They were signed to Ember Records by boss Jeff Kruger, who notably told them, "I'm gonna make you as big as Elton John".
Split: The band separated in 1972 shortly after the release of their debut. The album was later reissued on CD by Repertoire in 1993.
