The playoffs are back! Pens. Bolts. Game 1.
Sorry I haven't been around much recently, been really busy with other things in my life but I will always make time for the playoffs.
This is the kind of playoff game you would expect of the Pens without Crosby or Malkin. A grind it out, hard style of hockey, and that's exactly what this game was. Some huge hits early. Oprik hit on Stamkos was nasty. Great way to set the tone of a series.
Then, there are moments in a game that are why playoff hockey is so great. In a matter of about 15 seconds, the entire game changes from 0-0 to 2-0. Kovy leads it off, Asham follows up right after.
And not to mention Fleury. This team will go as far as he can carry them, and he looked absolutely fantastic in this game, making a ton of stops early as the Lightning were getting a lot of chances, then finishing it out with a shutout.
Game 2 on Friday. LET'S GO PENS!!!
