Описание: Another week of the Fensmere Carpy Chronicles, and this one perfectly sums up modern carp fishing—blank one day, bites the next.

After a frustrating Wednesday session up at the barrage where I didn’t manage a single take (and decided not to upload a video), I headed back for a six-hour hit-and-run session… and this time it all came together with three carp landed.

Nothing huge this week, but still proper fishing:

An upper-20 mirror

A mid-20 common

A smaller common

More importantly, it backed up exactly what I’d seen earlier in the week. With the water level up by around two metres, the carp were clearly pushing onto the newly flooded areas of the barrage. On Wednesday they were showing everywhere—rolling, jumping, cruising the surface—but not feeding at all. Today proved they were never far away.

Seeing that many fish in the area really bodes well for the coming weeks, and I’m quietly hopeful that things are lining up for something special… maybe even that elusive 50-pounder 👀🎯

Away from the rods, it’s been steady work at the fish farm—feeding, spreading calcium carbonate, and keeping everything ticking over. It’s also shaping up to be a big week, with a real highlight coming up…
