Project
Step 1: Blow a balloon.
Step 2: Draw an an equator in the center of the balloon.
Step 3: As partner turns the balloon draw a straight line and see what happens.

Step 1: Draw a circle. (The edge will be your equator).
Step 2: Place clay on a foam or card board.
Step 3: Place clay at the ends of the foam board ruler length apart.
Step 4: Pin circle cut at the center of your board as shown in the video.
Step 5: Hold the ruler against the pin and spin the circle cut out as your partner draws the line.
Step 6: Observe what happens and record.
A moving, rotating mass in a system experiencing a force (Coriolis force) that is moving perpendicular to the direction of the motion and the axis of rotation . This effect deflects the movement of the action known as the Coriolis Effect. Moving objects are deflected to the right in the northern hemisphere and deflected to the left from the southern hemisphere. This can lead to cyclones, hurricanes and sever weather affects.
