In this video, we show a clever trick to fix a Whirlpool dryer with a broken timer shaft.
🧩 The Problem:
While turning the cycle knob, the plastic shaft inside the timer snapped, leaving the dryer stuck and unusable.
🔧 The Solution:
We teach you how to:
Access and remove the broken timer from the control panel.
Open the timer housing to expose the internal contacts (platinum terminals).
Manually rotate the internal cam until the contacts align and the dryer starts.
Disable the timer motor so the system stays in that cycle without advancing.
💡 This lets the user run the dryer manually — but they’ll need to set a timer on their phone to avoid over-drying clothes.
