An official is seen awarding young gymnasts but she skips one of the lot. The girl who she skips happens to be the only black girl amongst a queue of white participants. Social media users have called out the official’s act as racist.

Gymnastics Ireland has said that it has taken cognizance of the situation calling it an “honest error”. However, the young girl’s mother alleges that this was only after the video went viral.

She has accused Gymnastics Ireland of previously downplaying the event to secure their reputation.
