Working with hay in a mountain village. Taking hay from the haystack to the barn to feed the cows.
In this video, we dismantle a traditional haystack and move the hay into the barn to prepare food for the cows. This is one of the regular farm tasks in mountain village life.
Together with my son, we carry the hay from the stack and throw it onto the barn loft where it will be stored for feeding the cows.
Under the haystack there are branches and wooden sticks placed on the ground. They help protect the hay from moisture and prevent it from rotting. After removing the hay, we clean the area and gather the branches that were used as a base for the stack.
This is real rural work — simple, honest, and connected to nature. Life in a mountain village is full of everyday tasks like this that keep the farm running.
