Blender on iPad is HERE (Pre-Beta Testing) and you can set it up today.
This is not a jailbreak — it’s the official pre-beta iOS branch workflow from Blender’s repo. In this video we install Xcode and Homebrew, clone Blender, switch to the iOS branch, pull the iOS libraries, generate the Xcode project, run the cross-tools, sign, and deploy to iPad.

✅ Requirements (read first)
Mac with Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) on macOS
Xcode (latest from App Store) — open once and accept the license
Apple Developer account (free or paid)
iPad with Developer Mode ON (Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode)
USB-C cable to connect iPad
Stable internet; 50–80 GB free disk space
🛠️ Steps (high-level, full commands are in the TXT link)
Install Xcode Command Line Tools.
Install Homebrew (or confirm you have it).
Install build dependencies: git-lfs and cmake; initialize git-lfs.
Clone the official Blender repo, switch to the ios branch.
Pull LFS, iOS precompiled libraries, and submodules with make_update.py and make update.
Generate the Xcode project with CMake (generator “Xcode”).
Open the project from Terminal; in Xcode set Signing Team and select your iPad.
In Xcode, copy the blender_cross_tools_compile Run Script (Build Phases) and run it yourself in Terminal from the repo root.
Press Run in Xcode to build and deploy to your iPad.
⚠️ Common errors and fixes
Provisioning or signing errors → Xcode → Blender target → Signing & Capabilities → set Team (Apple ID). Click “Fix Automatically” if offered.
iPad says Developer Mode required → Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode → enable (reboot).
DerivedData or permissions issues → clear DerivedData and fix permissions (see commands in TXT file).
Disk full → free space and clear caches (commands in TXT).
Project stale or broken → delete build_ios and regenerate with CMake (commands in TXT).
After pulling latest source → run make_update.py --use-ios-libraries and make update again.
