Join us to celebrate the release of a local history treasure, "Our Salinas Chinatown", edited by Jean Vengua, on Friday, September 1st at Downtown Book & Sound, 213 Main Street, in Downtown Salinas. Contributors share stories highlighting the Asian perspective of the early days of Salinas.
Please accept our personal invitation to attend this free public event as we honor the vital contributions of our Asian residents to the Salinas and Monterey Bay communities. This important collection of local histories reflects the authentic voices of real people and their experiences - helping us connect the past to our present.
The reception features a short Q&A with the writers, brief readings from the book guaranteed to whet appetites for more, live music, refreshments, informal conversation opportunities, and a chance to have your copy inscribed by the editor and the writers present during the evening.
