DEEP SHOULDER STRETCH 🫠🤯
Are your shoulders tight? Do you struggle with backbends or handstands? We have many muscles that cross the shoulder joint and many can get tight and stick together almost like adhesive underneath the armpit limiting our range of motion when we raise our arms above our head. This deep shoulder stretch will help to open your shoulders and increase mobility in your thoracic spine and the added weight will be a game changer! Save this to try later!
Read on for Tips:
👍🏼 feet and knees hips distance apart
👍🏼 place enough blocks under your shoulder blades so that your hips and hands aren’t touching the floor.
👍🏼 the blocks start at the bottom tip of your shoulder blades
👍🏼 place a light weight in your hands (I’m using an 8lb) you can do this without a weight and hold opposite elbow
👍🏼raise your arms carefully above your head
👍🏼 let your hips sink down
👍🏼 let gravity and the weight stretch your shoulders
👍🏼 relax into the stretch by deepening your breath
👍🏼 pro tip- to come out release the weight on the floor first
