Описание: On August 8, 2026, British Columbia declared a state of emergency over its entire territory — all 944,735 square kilometres — because of a single wildfire burning in one valley of the South Okanagan. Two days before that fire existed, the province had already welcomed a second wave of firefighters from Mexico, alongside crews from Australia and New Zealand. The fire covered roughly 50 square kilometres within three hours of being reported, and by half past midnight an entire community of more than 12,000 people had been ordered out in the dark. But the two powers the province actually reached for that afternoon had nothing to do with putting water on a fire.
