The prime minister is still refusing to move on a royal commission into the Bondi Beach terror attack despite receiving a desperate written plea from the families of the victims, Anthony Albanese insisting a review is enough.
Meanwhile the hero at the centre of the attack, Ahmed al Ahmed, is out of hospital and has given his first interview to America's CBS Mornings. The Syrian-born shopkeeper saying his only thoughts when he leapt to disarm the gunman were to stop him from killing innocent people.
