The American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) have collaborated to create a national quality verification program focused on the care and treatment of patients receiving vascular surgical and interventional care. The Vascular Verification Program establishes a cohesive framework for hospitals and outpatient facilities focused on using data and quality improvement practices to deliver appropriate clinical care to achieve optimal vascular patient outcomes. The Program provides participating hospitals with a way to establish and grow quality improvement and clinical care infrastructure for vascular surgery and interventional care. Verified hospitals will have a framework for improving patient education, clinical care, and data collection, among other areas. The verification program can be adapted to a variety of inpatient hospital and outpatient settings.
This session will focus on the newly launched ACS/SVS Vascular Verification Program and the success of ACS's National quality verification programs across other surgical specialties. The importance of vascular verification program in the outpatient setting will be discussed as well.
