Overview:

As the night progresses, the deserted streets become a setting of loneliness and a growing sense of danger. When the paths of two strangers, João Correia and Pedro Passos, cross on the dark streets, the tension becomes palpable. Fear intensifies when both realize they are not alone: one is following the other, and distrust begins to emerge. What unfolds next is a tense confrontation, where fear and paranoia are at their peak. Esquinas do Medo (Corners of Fear) is an urban thriller that explores the vulnerability and psychology of a clash between two strangers, trapped in the shadows of the early hours, where the unknown is closer than you might think.

"Corners of Fear" is an urban thriller that stands out for its bold decision to be filmed exclusively at night, using only the natural lighting of the streets to create an atmosphere of tension and realism. The story follows two men who find themselves caught in a game of distrust and fear during a lonely early morning. The film addresses contemporary issues, such as the feeling of insecurity in cities, while maintaining a universal perspective on human nature. With an engaging narrative and cinematography that explores shadows and darkness, the short film is a cinematic experience that captivates the audience from beginning to end.

"Esquinas do Medo" é um suspense urbano que se destaca pela ousadia de ser filmado exclusivamente à noite, utilizando apenas a iluminação das ruas para criar uma atmosfera de tensão e realismo. A história acompanha dois homens que se veem envolvidos em um jogo de desconfiança e medo durante uma madrugada solitária. O filme aborda questões contemporâneas, como a sensação de insegurança nas cidades, enquanto mantém um olhar universal sobre a natureza humana. Director Biography - Daniel Maciel

Independent Brazilian filmmaker with 15 years of experience in research and teaching screenwriting and audiovisual dramaturgy. Collaborated on various feature film and television series projects, and has produced and directed several works, including the feature film "Conexão com o Mal" (Evil Connection), and the short films "Efeitos Nefastos" (Harmful Effects) and "Esquinas do Medo" (Corners of Fear).

Cineasta brasileiro independente, com 15 anos de experiência em pesquisa e ensino de roteiro e dramaturgia audiovisual. Colaborou em diversos projetos de longas-metragens e séries de televisão e produziu e dirigiu vários projetos, como o longa metragem Conexão com o Mal, e os curtas Efeitos Nefastos e Esquinas do Medo.
