Initial feedback to the espresso performance with the 078s burrs.

We aimed to start with medium, to medium dark roasted coffee beans as these types of roasts are usually easier to extract.
.
So far, we have gone through 1.5kg of coffee beans with the new burrs. They still feel that they need more seasoning. We are expecting to see optimum results of these burrs in espresso after grinding 5kg to 10kg of coffee beans. Seasoning these burrs will probably remove any micro imperfections in the finishing of the cutting edges. Additionally, it will add a very small percentage of fines that will allow these burrs to perform better in espresso.

So far, regardless of the small channeling and the difficulties in dialing with the burrs, most espresso shots were delicious. You will get great clarity, vibrant tasting notes and overall a very smooth shot without any astrengency or harshness.

We are doing our best to keep seasoning them and checking the differences along the way. However, you should expect that you won't be getting super even and smooth extraction of these burrs out of the box. Tastewise, you will be very pleased 💯

We are using the burrs of the Timemore Sculptor 078s in the body of Sculptor 078. There might be some micro movements in the grind adjustment dial while grinding. However, we don't think it makes a huge impact over the extraction as we are trying to keep an eye on the grinding dial.

Things to note so far:
🔹️It is much better to use RDT (splash some water on the beans to avoid static electricity). It is not a must, but it will make things cleaner.
🔹️The grind dial is not espresso focused, you have to be very delicate in adjusting the settings.
🔹️The motor is capable of grinding super light roasts at the lowert RPM.
