After having these door lock actuators sit in garage for eight months, I finally found the time to install them. Door actuator motors are always in use so naturally in time they will wear out and will need to be replaced.
For my wife’s car it started out with the driver side then eventually the front passenger side went out. There’s a feature that activates the door lock actuator. Once you’re about to drive off the RAV4 has a feature where it automatically locks the door. After installing these new door lock actuators, I decided to disable that automatic locking feature. This should decrease the wear out time on these newer actuators.
