🍅 INGREDIENTS
250 grams Paneer (cubed, lightly fried)
1 cup Green Peas (Matar)
3 medium Onions
2 large Tomatoes
5 Cashew pieces
-2 tsp curd (Dahi)
Whole Spices (Khade Masale)
1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Zeera)
2 Dry Red Chillies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
1 small Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
4-5 Black Peppercorns (Kali Mirch)
1 tsp Coriander Seeds (Sukhi Dhaniya)
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
½ tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
Salt to taste
1 tsp Kasuri Methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
Water as needed
*👨🍳 METHOD (Step-by-Step):*
Step 1 – Spice Powder
Dry roast all whole spices lightly until fragrant. Let cool, then grind into a fine powder. Keep aside.
Step 2 – Onion-Tomato Paste
Finely chop onions and tomatoes. Lightly fry with cashew pieces until soft. Cool and blend into a smooth paste.
Step 3 – Gravy Base
Heat oil in a pan. Add the onion-tomato paste and sauté for 4-5 minutes on medium heat until oil starts separating.
Step 4 – Add Peas & Spices
Add green peas and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, and the prepared spice powder. Sauté for 5 minutes.
Step 5 – Add Paneer
Add lightly fried paneer cubes. Mix gently. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
*Step 6 – Final Touch:*
When the masala releases oil, add a little water to adjust consistency.
Crush kasuri methi between palms and sprinkle. Cover and simmer for just 2-3 minute.
Step 7 – Serve Hot
Garnish with fresh coriander. Your Homestyle Matar Paneer is ready in just 15-20 minutes! 🥘
SERVE WITH
Steamed Rice, Jeera Rice, Butter Naan, or Tawa Roti.
