As thousands protested in Auburn, CA, the rural town of 14,000 people, community members stood on the steps of the historic courthouse and sang "Do you hear the people sing?" one of the most recognizable songs from Les Miserables. This song has been used as a protest song throughout the years and is a call to overcome adversity and fight against oppression.
Protesters peacefully lined the streets surrounding the historic Auburn courthouse. Everyone, and we mean everyone, who is watching what's happening in our country and has a conscience, is on the streets or showing solidarity. Thank you, Auburn. Thank you, everyone. Placer County's community has never been stronger.
