America is the first to land on the moon, finally beating the Russians in some element of the space race. The rest of the astronauts aren't interested in hearing one of their comrades (compatriot in Yankee talk) talk about the arts and poetry of describing the lights on the lunar surface. It's a strange light that's almost like classic art. Maybe a little too similar. A good story by Poul Anderson. (from "The Critical X Minus One" by Jim Fanisher)
