The Invisibles by Grant Morrison and Promethea by Alan Moore are stories I’ve lived with for years. I read them young, returned to them later, and slowly realized they weren’t just stories I enjoyed. They were structures I was learning to inhabit.

In this conversation, I explore how these works function as modern initiatory texts. Not as metaphors alone, but as living myths that mirror ceremonial magick, theurgy, discipline, and embodied practice. They ask what it means to awaken power without being consumed by it, to see clearly without collapsing into paranoia, and to carry responsibility in a world that feels increasingly disoriented. We move through The Invisibles as a story of rebellion, initiation, and the danger of false binaries. We move through Promethea as a grimoire of imagination, ascent, and return, a walk through the Tree of Life that ends not in escape, but in re-entry.

Along the way, I draw connections to modern anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Fullmetal Alchemist, Demon Slayer, and others that are quietly telling the same story through different symbols. Sorcery schools, discipline, sacrifice, and the cost of awakening.

This isn’t about fandom, conspiracy, or escaping the world. It’s about learning how to stand inside it with clarity, practice, and care.
