Beware Falling Iguanas and
A Flutter of Butterflies

We made all sorts of things in this class, from tiny kozo zines to embossed metal superhero masks to rainbow-colored, handmade paper. Mostly though, we were investigating different ways to turn 2D media into 3D objects. Here, delicate, flat kozo-fiber wings became dimensional butterflies and large, flat watercolor paintings became undulating lizards. Both creatures (when not in paper form) are threatened by the actions of humans and by climate change.

En esta clase hicimos todo tipo de cosas, desde zines kozo hasta máscaras en relieve de superhéroes y papel en colores arco iris y artesanal. Principalmente, estábamos investigando diferentes formas de convertir medios 2D en objetos 3D. Aquí, las delicadas y planas alas de fibra kozo se convirtieron en mariposas dimensionales y las pinturas grandes y planes se convirtieron en ondulantes lagartos. Ambas creaturas (cuando no están en forma de papel) peligran por las acciones de los humanos y por el cambio climático.
