Here on the farm we REALLY ENJOYING shooting the old 1911 pistol. My wife and I both carry a 1911 as our E.D.C. and I have a RANGE OFFICER TARGET model for mostly just target shooting. It's a bit heavy and big for my E.D.C. The best way to drop cost and increase reliability of the 1911 in a 45 ACP pistol is to HAND LOAD. The loads we use are a very SWEET PET LOAD that has been used by the millions for years and years. We use the Berry Premium plated bullets in a 230 ball round. The powder is 4 grains of Bullseye with a CARTRIDE OVERALL LENGHT (C.O.A.L.) of 1.23".
This length is very reliable in feeding AND will allow for smooth ejection of a live round. I have used 1.25" for a long time BUT the Berry will hand up trying to eject a live round UNLESS you shrink it just a touch down to 1.23"
We hope you enjoy our video and subscribe so you can stay up to date when we shoot these new ROUNDS ON THE FARM!
