I got my hands on a Go Pro Hero 7 Black after having my Hero 5 Black for 2 years, I really wanted to test out the hyper smooth function on the hero 7 Black side by side to the the hero 5 to see how it held up compared to the go pro marketing shots.
I have to say i'm super impressed how stable the image is, I own a gimbal as well and think I can get rid of that now, but for me there's still some of the same issues like when using a gimbal in that the video seems too smooth!!! I am pretty fast on these local tracks usually but the hero 7 is so smooth it seems slow, but I cannot question the smoothness. I will use is in some of my races next season and check out how race footage looks like.
