Dos & Don'ts after Root Canal Treatment
(1 )Use an over-the-counter pain reliever within one hour
(2 )Ibuprofen is all that is needed for post-operative soreness.
(3)Avoid aspirin and aspirin based products to eliminate the risk of blood thinning if any bleeding occurs.
(4 )If antibiotics prescribed, you take them for the full length of time.
(5)Don’t eat overly hard foods, especially right after a root canal treatment.
(6)Chew on the opposite side from the treatment area.
(7 )Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until the permanent restoration is placed.
(8 )Avoid chewing gum, caramels, or other sticky candy that could dislodge your temporary crown or filling.
(9 )Avoid any chewing until numbness has completely worn off.
(10)It is normal for your tooth to be sore for 2-3 days after treatment
