Sometimes life knocks you down. In 2020, I think it knocked most of us down and because of this, I have felt an obligation to dig deeper into what I went through throughout the past year and share more of my mindset on life.
I began 2020 by laying in bed for 4 months; not by choice mind you. The Crohn's Disease that I had been fighting for the 5 years prior took full control over my body and left me stuck in bed losing blood, losing weight (50+ lbs.), and more importantly losing life. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, I underwent intestinal surgery that forced me to make huge sacrifices in even the smallest areas of life, but it ultimately was the beginning of what has become an even more extraordinary quality of life.
