[1] This video focuses on the Scriptural evidence, but the divine council appears in the Liturgy and in church architecture as well. We proclaim “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Sabaoth (Lord of Hosts)” during the Anaphora in the Divine Liturgy. Interestingly, the High Place behind the altar has a throne for the bishop (who is an icon of Christ the High Priest) often surrounded by other chairs for his co-celebrants. This is an image of the divine council.

[30] The reality of God’s divine council, with His mother on His right hand and His prophet at His left hand is seen in Orthodox iconography. The iconostasis always has the Theotokos on His right and St. John the Baptist on His left.
