Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi: Violence erupted during an ‘Equality March’ called by the JNU Students’ Union demanding the resignation of Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit over alleged casteist remarks in a recent podcast. The Union claimed the administration allowed members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad to confront the protesters. ABVP denied allegations, blaming Left-backed groups for provoking clashes.

Lucknow University, Uttar Pradesh: Protests erupted after the Lal Baradari building, housing a mosque, was sealed citing safety concerns. Student groups including NSUI, Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha, and AISA staged a sit-in and formed a human chain to allow Muslim students to pray outside the sealed premises. University officials cited recent wall collapse and structural dangers.

Authorities are monitoring both campuses closely as investigations and discussions continue to restore normalcy.
