Works in the muti-billion Olkaria (i) power plant in Naivasha have stalled following a strike by over 600 workers involved in the construction of the power station.
This is the second week of strike for the workers who are accusing the H-young company of failing to pay them their risk allowance despite what they term as health risks caused by poisonous geothermal gases. The workers state that many of them are complaining of chest congestion and pain in their body joints. The workers were joined by the Olkaria member of county assembly peter Pallang'a who called on the management to work on the workers plight and save its reputation.
