Описание: This beautiful ballad was written by vaudevillian James Thornton and published in 1898. It was inspired by Thornton’s wife, Bonnie, when she asked her husband if he still loved her. His reply, “I love you like I did when you were sweet sixteen,” led to the composition of this song which his wife introduced in her act. Growing up in country Victoria, Australia, one of the highlights for me were the concerts given by the Irish band, ‘The Fureys’. This poignant and sentimental song looks back on young love, the joys and romance, and it’s innocence.
