Laura Piispanen is a researcher and artist from Aalto University exploring how game design can make quantum physics playable, visual, and fun. Her upcoming doctoral dissertation examines quantum games, experimental projects that merge game development, science communication and creative technology. She has been the main organiser of the international Quantum Game Jam, where physicists, artists and studios team up to build prototypes inspired by quantum phenomena. Through her work, Laura bridges the worlds of research and game development to imagine new ways of experiencing science through play.

What happens when quantum physics meets game design? In this talk, Laura Piispanen from Aalto University explores quantum games, playable projects that visualise quantum phenomena and connect research with creative technology. Drawing from international Quantum Game Jams, she shares how researchers, artists and studios collaborate to turn complex science into interactive experiences, and reflects on where quantum-inspired game development is heading next.
