Formula One has experienced many unusual situations throughout its history. One of these occurred at the traditional Monaco Grand Prix in its 1982 edition: in the last three laps, one driver after another retired, always after taking the lead. In an increasingly shorter grid, the one who managed to stay on the track emerged victorious. It was the most chaotic final laps of all time, a GP which became known as the race who "nobody wanted to win".
