In Webinar #2 of the Mental Health Along the Transplant Journey Series, psychotherapist Amy Haertel, MSW, RSW explores the emotional impact that organ transplant has on caregivers, family members, and friends.
While medical care focuses on survival, many caregivers experience shared trauma, emotional suppression, and burnout during and after the transplant journey. This webinar discusses why these experiences are common and offers practical strategies to help families move from survival mode toward healing, connection, and nervous system regulation.
Topics include caregiver burnout, mutual emotional silence, support vs. fixing, co-regulation, and simple grounding strategies for managing stress after transplant.
