Odisha Gopalpur Gangrape: A horrific and shameful incident has come to light at Gopalpur Beach in Odisha’s Ganjam district. On Sunday night, a 20-year-old woman was gang-raped in front of her male friend.

According to information the incident occurred when the victim had gone to Gopalpur Beach with her friend to enjoy the Raja festival. The two were sitting in a quiet, secluded spot on the beach when a group of about 10 young men arrived on three motorcycles.

As per the victim’s complaint, the accused first took photos of her and her friend, threatening to make them viral. They then overpowered her friend, tied his hands, and took turns raping the young woman. After this horrific ordeal, the victim managed to reach the nearby Gopalpur police station with her friend and lodged a complaint.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police swung into action and inspected the crime scene. Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M. personally visited the site and oversaw the investigation. So far, the police have detained seven young men in connection with the case. All the accused are reportedly adults, and intensive interrogations are underway. According to police sources, others may also be involved in the incident, and a search for them is ongoing.

Medical examinations of the victim and all the accused are been conducted. Given the seriousness of the case, the police are investigating every aspect and have assured that the culprits will be brought to justice as soon as possible.
"A 20 years girl filed a complaints at Gopalpur police station regarding a sexual assault to her. When the girl was sitting with her boyfriend at an isolated place near sea beach some miscreants came to them around 8.30 P.M. Then those miscreants attacked her boyfriend and took her to an abandoned house near to that place. Then three persons was gang raped her there. Now we have detained eight persons on this matter. Now girl's health condition is stable" said police SP
